Telemarketing and
Junk Mail – Good bye!
Tired of having your dinner interrupted by a
telemarketer or your recycling bin overflowing
with junk mail? On September 30, 2008 the CRTC
Canadian Radio-telecommunications Commission
is launching a national Do Not Call Registry where
Canadians can sign up to be removed from the list of
some telemarketers. Up to three telephone numbers
per person can be registered (includes faxes, cell or
land line). Simply call 1-866-580-DNCL (1-866-580-3625)
or 1-888-DNCL-TTY (1-888-362-5889) to register, or
register online at www.LNNTE-DNCL.gc.ca . For more
information go to the CRTC website at: http://www.
crtc.gc.ca/eng/INFO_SHT/t1031.htm .
Decreasing or eliminating junk mail is easy
according to the Red Dot Campaign www.
reddotcampaign.ca . According to the website all
that is needed is to tape a No Junk Mail note to your
mailbox or mail slot. If your note is ignored, there is a
downloadable letter that can be left in your mail box
or slot for your Postal Carrier. Canada Post’s e-post is a
free service that reduces the number of paper bills you
receive in the mail, and helps to manage your timely
bill payments through reminders. There is also secure
online storage for up to 7 years. For more information
go to: www.epost.ca.
“If you knew you’d live to
a hundred, how would you
change your life?” asks Dr. Eric
Plasker in his book The 100 Year
Lifestyle published by Adams
Media. The book is based on
Plasker’s wellness system
and reveals the secret to
making the most of an
extended lifespan. The
book encompasses social
determinants of health including:
diet, nutrition, exercise, mental agility,
creativity, finance, family, work, community
and achieving a sense of purpose. Readers are
encouraged to make a 100-Year Lifestyle Leap into the
healthiest, happiest time of their lives, every day, for the rest
of their lives.
